Young people with disabilities are among the most marginalized and economically disadvantaged individuals globally. They often encounter greater levels of discrimination and face more pronounced social, economic, and civic inequalities compared to their non-disabled counterparts, particularly in developing nations like South Africa.

About Sithandiwe Disabled Care Centre

In 2017, we assumed responsibility for the Sithandiwe Youth Disabled Care Centre, located in Lombardy, south of Alexander. Our program aimed to comprehensively address the needs of youth with disabilities. We visited the Centre bi-monthly to provide support, including food and toys, and to assess any additional necessities required for its operation. Thandi Ndlovu, the founder of Sithandiwe Disabled Care Centre, established the facility based on her firsthand experience of living with a disability.
