Collen Mashawana Foundation

introduction

We are “People” first before anything else. Our commitment and interest in creating a better nation should be demonstrated by caring for our neighbors and helping those we come across who are in need. Tomorrow’s leaders are groomed today and it is everyone’s responsibility.

'ONE BRICK AT A TIME FLAGSHIP' CAMPAIGN

SINCE 2012

Many South Africans require proper housing and often find themselves living in unsafe circumstances as a result of housing delivery challenges. In addition to this, they do not have access to essentials such as clean water, sanitation and electricity.

This crisis in turn costs the economy as families have limited opportunities to increase their earnings. The South African government is also faced with the challenge of density restrictions, lack of support from those who have the authority to permit the construction process, and most importantly the increasing cost of building housing.

There is a need for business and the nation as a whole to come together and assist our government where possible. The Collen Mashawana Foundation has introduced many programs and initiatives that aim to lessen the burden on both the government and the most vulnerable within our communities. With the help of Afribiz Invest, we have made great strides in delivering housing, water and driving programs that resulted in the donation of key essentials across the country.

The foundation’s primary goal is to reach out to the most disadvantaged members of our communities, with a specific focus on bringing relief to the elderly, people living with a disability, and child-headed families. We have found that the lack of access to essential services is a key underlining factor for poverty. The consequence of this is a society that does not have a meaningful participation in its economy, and thus we aim to stimulate socio-economic development and assist with the eradication of poverty.

We strongly believe that the responsibility to build our nation is not solely on government, but if we work together we can achieve more. The Collen Mashawana Foundation firmly believes in humanity and social inclusion. By so doing, we try our utmost best to help those in need by providing safe housing and adequate based care for our fellow Africans.
