Many South Africans require proper housing and often find themselves living in unsafe circumstances as a result of housing delivery challenges. The Collen Mashawana Foundation has ventured to build a 100 homes for ordinary South African needs through the agency of the “One Brick At A Time” initiative, which will see those willing to donate or buy a Brick that will go towards building material that will build these houses.
The campaigns primary goal is to reach out to the most disadvantaged members of our communities, with a specific focus on bringing relief to the elderly, people living with a disability, and child-headed families. We have found that the lack of access to essential services is a key underlining factor for poverty. The consequence of this is a society that does not have a meaningful participation in its economy, and thus we aim to stimulate socio-economic development and assist with the eradication of poverty.
