On October 21, 2022, the Collen Mashawana Foundation presented Meida Ramahulana, who was just successfully treated for a rare type of chin cancer, with the keys to a brand-new, fully-furnished house. This is a tribute to her recent recovery. Meida and her child share a residence in Ha-Mudimeli, which is located in the province of Limpopo.
The successful building of the home came about as a result of a request made to the Foundation by Dr. Phophi Ramathuba, the MEC for Health in the province of Limpopo, for assistance with their living circumstances. As a result of her illness, Meida was unable to get work, and she ended up living in a run-down shanty that was both hazardous and beyond repair.
On September 11th, the Chairman of the Foundation, along with the Member of the Executive Council Phophi Ramathuba and the Executive Mayor of the Vhembe District Municipality CIIr Mildred Sinyosi, visited the residents of the area to evaluate their living conditions and investigate potential avenues of assistance.
After evaluating their predicament, the Foundation made the decision to construct for them a home with two bedrooms and a borehole that would provide water to the neighborhood as well as be open to the public.
The home was constructed, painted, and furnished over the course of seven weeks using resources that were contributed by both our company and Afribiz Invest, our construction partners. The house is now ready for occupancy. Kotlolo Engineering and Muvex Drilling, both of whom joined in on this project, also contributed to the building of the home.
