House Handover In Kakamas, Cillie Village, Northern Cape

In response to a call to assist the Coetzee Family in Cillie Village situated in Kakamas in the Northern Cape , the Chairman of the Collen Mashawana Foundation, together with his delegation will be joined by the Northern Cape Premier Dr. Zamani Saul, the Department of Social Development Minister Lindiwe Zulu, and the Booth Night club owner, Juji Abolore to hand over a newly built home to the family of nine.

The family has been living in a dilapidated two room shack and relying on R4400 from social grants. The eldest of the family is Oom Dirk who lost both his grandchild and wife in a space of 2 months. This highlights their reduced ability to access basic needs thus adversely affecting health outcomes, and an opportunity to have a normal life.

The Foundation committed to building them a 3 bedroom house, and we are pleased to announce that our plan has finally come into fruition. This could not have been made possible without our partners for the individual and valuable roles that they have played in ensuring that we make this project a success story and demonstrating that together we can move South Africa forward.

We look forward to witnessing the family’s new journey that promises new hope and dignity. We also challenge other organisations and individuals to become active citizens in initiatives that improve the lives of our communities.
