The Collen Mashawana Foundation Visits GBV Victim

The Collen Mashawana Foundation together with the The old Mutual Foundation and Centre for Mental Wellness & Leadership paid a condolence visit to the immediate family of the late Lindelani Nengovhela (33). Lindelani was allegedly killed by her husband, and her body found in a pit toilet. It was reported that a day before the death of Lindelani Nengovhela, she had withdrawn charges of assault against her husband.

The bereaved family was left disturbed by the gruesome killing of their beloved child, sister and mother. To uplift their spirits, Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, known by her stage name as Makhadzi accompanied us to offer support after such a traumatic and tragic loss.

We presented the family with some groceries and uniform for the kids to continue going to school.  We also pledged to provide continuous support that the children may require, which will include therapy and trauma counselling. Our aim is to see to it that the family are equipped with the necessary support through this challenging experience.  We hope that our support and interventions can result in stability and relief for the family.
