PARTNERSHIP
WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT & AFRIBIZ INVEST

Partnering with the Department of Social Sevelopment and Afribiz Construction to provide decent shelter for older persons, child-headed households and persons living with disabilities.

CMF, AFRIBIZ Invest and Department of Social Development join hands to advance socio-economic development.

“IMPROVING THE LIVES OF THE POOR”

On the 11th of August 2021, the Department of Social Development signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Collen Mashawana Foundation which focuses on providing decent shelter for older persons, child-headed households and persons living with disabilities. To date, the Collen Mashawana Foundation in partnership with Afribiz Construction, a subsidiary of Afribiz Invest who provides CMF with labour and expertise, has handed over 200 new houses across the country.

CMF is aligned with the DSD’s integrated development and welfare services programmes – having signed a partnership to help improve the lives of the poor. Mr Mashawana found it important to measure things that CMF cares about in its sustainability reporting, which is why we need to touch as many vulnerable communities as possible.

The partnership will govern our relationship with DSD and articulate the required support from both delivery partners. This exciting collaboration is an opportunity to support DSD’s vision to transform our society by building conscious and capable citizens through the provision of comprehensive, integrated and sustainable social development services.

We must guide future resource allocation to organisations such as CMF, which is centered on social development as its primary core function.
